GUARANTEE:

Provided you quarantine any birds you purchase from me, and maintain them in a reasonable manner, the following guarantee will be honored:
WEANED BIRDS:
You must take the bird(s) to a vet (at your expense) within 48 hours of purchase.  If a life-threatening problem is found, and one that is determined to have been in existence before purchase, return the bird promptly with the vet's report, and I will be happy to refund your money or replace the bird (at my option, but bird will be replaced within one year if no refund is given).  I will not be responsible for any veterinarian bills incurred, whether for diagnosis or treatment.
This is the ONLY guarantee I offer, so please be sure to check your bird over carefully before purchase.  I enter into any transaction in good faith and knowing that the bird has been healthy while in my care.  However, you have to realize that there is always a risk involved when dealing with live animals.
UNWEANED BIRDS:
Because of the risks involved in handfeeding, I will honor NO guarantee whatsoever on birds sold that are not weaned.  There are too many variables, and it is always a possibility that an unweaned bird may become suddenly ill and/or die, regardless of the experience of the handfeeder.  The money saved in buying an unweaned bird should be carefully weighed against the risk on the buyer's part.

You will be asked to sign a copy of this guarantee when you acquire one of my birds, stating that you have read and agree to the terms of the guarantee.

Be aware that deposits are non-refundable
should you simply change your mind,
so you should be totally committed  before making a deposit!!

come back up until about 3 weeks before babies are ready to go
After that I'm afraid it is a CASH ONLY policy.

The usual guarantee also applies, so please read it!

On 9/15/09, Timnehs Ziggy & Paco hatched a baby and on 9/19/09 they hatched a second!   Ziggy & Paco have taken excellent care of their kids again, and they were big and strong when I pulled them on 9/29/09 to handfeed.  Cute! Cute! Cute!

Babies will be $750 each when completely weaned and ready to go.  Please read about my regular deposit policy below for more info.

I will be keeping a visual "diary" of their development, with daily pix, videos, weights, etc.   Please join me in their journey to adulthood, and watch as they grow.
UPDATE:
DNA results are in (above) and we have a boy and a girl
I will now take deposits on the babies.   $250. will hold your baby till he/she is ready to go, which should be sometime between mid and late December.  I keep them a full week after they no longer are getting handfeeding formula, just to make sure they are eating well on their own.
Please read the deposit policy below and also the guarantee.
If you have any questions please email me.
OSCAR is for sale.
He is a 25 year old congo grey, and I have had him for 9 years.  While I would not call him tame, I would not say he is too wild either.  He will readily step up onto a perch and enjoys getting his head scratched through the bars.  He will take treats from us very gently, and will shake "hands" through the bars if you offer him your finger.  If he was in the right situation with a patient owner, I do believe he would make a nice pet.
He's in perfect feather.  He said a few words when I first got him, but I honestly haven't heard any speaking from him in ages.  Could be that the others that talk a lot keep him muted, but I don't know.
Oscar is $375. cash, and the usual guarantee applies.
RANDY & RUBY are for sale
Randy and Ruby are a pair of congo greys that have been together for about 6 years and get along really well.  Randy is 16 and I have had him for 9 years (I got him when I got Oscar); Ruby is 7 years old and I've had her since just before she was a year old.  She was handfed and quite sweet when we got her, but I wanted her for breeding so she was introduced to Randy and has not been handled.  She will still readily step up onto a perch or your hand, but I'm not sure how she'd really be as a pet at this time.
As a breeder, she has now been laying clutches for me for a couple years, but so far every egg has been infertile.  I have not actually witnessed them breeding, so that may well be the problem.  Ruby is in perfect feather and speaks a little.  Randy chews off his chest feathers, so he often looks pretty ratty.  He does occasionally let them grow in for no apparent reason, the most recent time this happened was back in March, and the picture below was taken then (Randy on the left).
Randy is a very good talker as well as a great mimic.  He will also step up readily, but again, he would need work to be what I'd call tame.
Randy & Ruby are $1200. cash, and the usual guarantee applies.
This is MELO (above left) and XENA(above right), a pair of Meyers parrots for sale.

Melo is 4 and I got him at the NH Bird Mart in 2008.  Xena was one of my kids, born on the Fourth of July in 2003.  When first introduced after Melo's quarantine, they didn't want anything to do with each other.  Slowly they have become more compatible, and often are found sharing a short Polly Perch first thing in the morning.  Other times they are still at opposite sides of the cage, so I'd say they are getting there but have a ways to go.  They recently have chewed off what I had blocking their nestbox, so I'm taking that as an additional good sign.

Melo and Xena are for sale for $350. cash, with the usual guarantee.
This is JASPER, who was the Dad of my meyers pair.  He lost his mate and seems pretty lonely without her.
He was not a handfed bird, so has never been tame.  He is 19 years old, and was a GREAT dad
so perhaps someone has a lonely hen that needs him.  Jasper is $150. cash, with the usual guarantee.
OSCAR, RANDY & RUBY, MELO & XENA, and JASPER
are available at the prices listed.  NO CAGE comes with any of the birds,
and as always, there is NO SHIPPING.
I *might* be interested in a trade for any of them EXCEPT the congo pair,
but if you have something in mind please feel free to run it by me.
You won't know if you don't ask.
